Halifax is a good place to be a photographer. There’s no shortage of interesting businesses, from independent companies working out of converted mill buildings to manufacturers, professional services, retailers and people building something entirely their own.
I’m Danny, and this is where I’m based.
I work with businesses that need photographs for a reason. Maybe you’ve got a new website being built and the designer keeps asking for images. Perhaps you’re updating a company brochure, recruiting staff or trying to show prospective customers what happens inside your business.
Sometimes the job is straightforward. A morning of headshots, for example. Other times there are several departments, a factory floor, a product range and a marketing team with a long list of requirements.
Either way, I want to understand the brief before we start.
I’ll help you work out what needs photographing, how best to approach it and where the finished images will be used. If you’ve already got a marketing plan, I’ll work with it. If you’ve got a few ideas scribbled down, that’s fine too.
And because I’m local, arranging a visit to discuss your Halifax premises or plan the shoot is nice and straightforward.

If you’re trying to show the size of an industrial premises or document progress on a construction project, ground-level photographs only tell part of the story.
An aerial view can put the whole thing into context.
I provide drone photography and video for suitable commercial projects, from buildings and development sites to larger business premises. The images can be used in property marketing, project reports, company presentations and content showing how work is progressing.
With Halifax’s mix of built-up areas, hillsides and different property types, every potential flight needs looking at individually. A location that seems straightforward from the ground might have restrictions or practical considerations that affect what’s possible.
I’ll check the site, surrounding area, airspace, permissions and weather before confirming a drone shoot. If you’re planning regular progress photographs, we can discuss viewpoints that will make comparisons useful over time.

Commercial photographs often need to work for several people: the business owner, marketing team, web designer and whoever will be using them later. Getting everybody on the same page early makes the whole job easier.

We’ll discuss the people, products, locations and messages you need to cover. If there’s an existing brand guide or website design, we can use that to shape the shot list.

I’ll handle lighting, equipment and direction, whether we’re photographing products at the studio or working around staff and machinery at your premises.
03 / THE HANDOVER
Your selected images are edited and delivered through an online gallery. We’ll agree the timescale, intended uses and any file requirements before the photography takes place.

If you’re already working with a designer or marketing agency, I’m happy to work from their brief. We can plan image orientation, composition and space for text before the shoot, which is much easier than trying to fix it afterwards.

It’s particularly useful for professional headshots, product photography and planned brand portraits. Rather than trying to find somewhere suitable at your workplace, we can arrange the equipment and setup in advance and concentrate on getting the images right.
For larger teams, busy workplaces or photographs that need to show your actual premises, I can come to you instead. We can also discuss combining studio and on-location work if the brief calls for both.

Albion Street Studios is based at Dean Clough in Halifax. It’s an option for headshots, product photography and other commercial work requiring controlled lighting or backgrounds. Some briefs are better photographed at your premises, so we’ll decide what works best.
Yes, we can discuss follow-up headshot sessions for new starters. It’s useful to agree a consistent background, lighting and framing at the first shoot, so later photographs can sit comfortably alongside the existing staff portraits.
Potentially, yes. If the items are large, heavy or need to be photographed in use, it may be more practical to arrange the photography on-site. I’ll need to know the product dimensions, location and type of images required so we can work out a suitable setup.
We can agree which areas, processes, products or details must not appear in the photographs. Any site rules, confidentiality requirements and restrictions should be discussed before the shoot, so the shot list reflects what you’re comfortable sharing.
Absolutely. If your designer has a page layout, required image dimensions or examples of the style they’re after, I can use that information when planning the shoot. It helps to know which photographs need room for text, particular crops or specific compositions.
Yes. I can photograph commercial interiors, finished fit-outs, offices, retail spaces and development projects. We can include wider views to show the layout alongside details that highlight materials, workmanship and features of the finished space.
Where the location is suitable, yes. Every proposed flight needs checks for airspace restrictions, permissions, nearby buildings and people, weather and safety. Send me the site location and what you’d like to capture so I can assess whether aerial photography is practical.
Yes. We can create a schedule that covers the relevant teams, departments or premises. The key is identifying the photographs required at each location and allowing enough time for equipment changes, access and any travel between sites.
We’ll need to agree how many people are being photographed, the style of portraits you want and a suitable location. If we’re photographing at your office, a clear indoor area can work well. I’ll advise on clothing, backgrounds and scheduling beforehand.
